Canon X Series Look Picturestyle review

Canon released a brand new picturestyle which they claim to give you: "Image characteristics similar to images shot with Canon's professional digital video camera (X series) and contrast is softer than Standard in Picture style."

To download this new picturestyle go to the link below:

However they are quite late in the game as other professionals has already produced picturestyles that are better, like the Techicolor Cinestyle which s shown in the video.

This video was shot on a Canon 550D with Magic Lantern and using Canon Lens 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 , with settings of 1/30 f4 ISO200

X series Look Picturestyle by Canon

Canon just released a brand new picturestyle which they called the X series look which should be softer and flatter but have to say from the initial images I don't see that much difference and have to say if you seen Superflat or Marvels cinestyle or even Techicolor picturestyle those are much flatter.

But also have to say they are quite late in the game releasing it but I have to say I have not installed it yet I can not truly say its bad. I have downloaded it and still need to install it to see if its worth it or not.

If you want to download it you can get it here below.

Rubber Duck Project in Hong Kong

Shot with Canon EOS 550D with Magic Lantern Unified 2.3 installed and lens is Canon 18-55mm F3.5-5.6

With the use of the Magic Lantern I was able to shoot the timelapse, without using a timer remote. I filmed also a little but main was doing the timelapse and also trying out several things with timelapse however not all shots I did were used and some were impossible due that too many people walking about and also kicking over my tripod resulting that the placement changed and had to recount over several times and made me have less time then I should had.

Interview and filmaking tips from JJ Abrams

The director well known for his over use of lens flares even though I don't like his style that much, but he is a well known film Director who has places his own style in the cinema. Having directed big movies such as Star Trek and Super 8 and more, plus he will be also directing the new upcoming Star Wars. But I wish he would tone down his lens flares though, but a nice bit of info and interesting interview in this video above by BAFTA GURU.
