Puma Future Cat Vectorized

This is a vetorized Puma Future Cat shoe I made with Illustrator. Also I was practicing how to improve my skills using gradient nets and other gradient styles. I am pretty glad with this result and the looks. And I learned allot of stuff while I made it which I could use on other design that I could make with Illustrator.
This is the outline view of the shoe inside Illustrator.

Buddhalicious / Available

A funny Buddha logo for an Asian type restaurant, food service or snackbar. The illustration is a happy Buddha holding a big bowl with a chopsticks in it above his head. Also the name Buddhalicious does not exist with any restaurant, food service or snackbar.

TextCastLive / Available

This is an entry for TextCastLive that wanted a fast restyle of there logo. However I tried some different design then they might wanted. I made the A look like a radio tower for casting.

Work with Adobe CS3 to CS2

Allot people and companies or design school are going from Adobe CS2 to CS3. However there are some problems with people who don't have CS3 at home but also want to work both ways. So here are few tips how to do it.

Photoshop files depend on what you normally save them as. JPG, Gif, PNG and more are files that would always open in different versions. PSD can opened only if it got no special objects or special layer or filters. So if you want to work on both CS2 and CS3 with the same PSD file, just don't use the special filter.

With Adobe Indesign you need to export the files to INX. A indesign exhange file that can be opened in both CS3 and CS2.



With Adobe Illustrator you need to do the most of the CS2 to CS3 conversions. You need to save your work as EPS . You can not open it normally. What you need to do is to open a new file and place the eps file in it, then there should be a few buttons that appears above. Press the expand button to make it possible to edit the file or illustration.

With Flash you just have to save it as Flash 8 when you save it. When saving just open the drop down and you see that there is a Flash 8. And also open new file with Action Script 2.0 instead of 3.0.

DIY Wii zapper / gun

I've been searching for the Wii zapper / gun and zapper and they are all very expensive. Allot or just pieces of plastic some got extra game and some go little electronics to replace the nunchuck. And they all cost around 20 or 30 euro, while some would cost just few euro cause they are only plastic.I just bought Resident evil Umbrella Chronicles and I was getting bit pain from holding the Wii remote like I was about to do Bankai( its something from Bleach), because you don't really need to have the gun to play it but its better to have it to have a more ergonomic hold of the controller while shooting. So I made one my self with Adobe Illustrator I measured the sizes and shapes and made a template.

I made it from plastic acrylate sheets, but you could also make it from cardboard. A tip is to use cardboard from a cereal box because it have a large flat surface and is very strong or laminate the print. I left the top open so you could easily remove the Wii mote and also could press the buttons easily. I used few elastic bands to hold it in place. Cause I did not want to make it that your Wii remote would get stuck in it and that you could not take it out again.The handle is a loose in the template from the wii-mote holder because everybody and every age got different sized hands so people could resize that part so that everybody could hold it correct. On the back of the gun are openings so you could connect the nunchuck and the strap.
You need to make own holes for the elastic bands or you need to think of a own thing to hold the wii mote in place.

King's Poker Card Casino - Thun / Schweiz

This is my second win at Design Contest.net. King's Poker is a casino in Switzerland. The illustration is an ace poker card the best card with a crown on top for the king.This is the entry of the logo in the first version. With a bright orange for that is bright for a close to gold color.This is a revision with different more modern fonts and different colored.

Faith Based Leadership / Available

This is my entry for Faith Based Leadership. With hands that are used for different religions and culture for giving and receiving, and the hands are also dove for happiness. So the meaning of them is giving and receiving happiness.This is a revision with the hand more shaped like a dove with the thumb having a more bird like beak shape.
This is an entry I wanted to submit but someone else used the cupped hands which was actually different then these overlapping hands/doves. But it made it not possible for me to send the cupped hands version of the design.

The Act Fund

This is my entry for the Act Fund, which is a non profit charity organization that pours funding into a brain tumor research facility at UT Southwestern. The design is a dialog box or a talk cloud in a shape of a brain.

Poptherephy / Available

This is my entry for Poptheraphy.com. A website with news about celebrities. The design should be going to the direction of Roy Lichtenstein so I made the Pop out of dots. Cause I know Roy Lichtenstein uses dots for halftone effect only I am not sure how to make easy halftones yet. This is the 3rd version of the logo with Web2.0 gloss.
This is the second version with the colors the contest holder likes.
This is the first version kind of bubble gum like cause of the magenta color.

Shark RSR2

This is the 5th helmet model I made for GP500. Shark RSR2 with textures for Troy Corser who was a WSBK champ that year. Alex Barros Again because the graphics on his model is very cool. And a silver version to help people who want a silver base for there helmet.

This is the 3rd helmet model I made actually. Just after I finished modeling the Arai helmet model. Here I made a texture for Jurgen van den Goorbergh and Alex Barros.

Shoei X-Eleven / X-Spirit

This is the 4th helmet model I made, this one I made the texture for a rider I respect allot Daijiro Katoh. I self have a Norick Abe Replica Shoei X- Eleven so I could easily make this helmet model. I just had to make photo's of the helmet from each side and use it as a base.
This is a progress shot of the helmet. I learned myself spline modeling and also think it is the best way to model. I also copy the model that I am working on and link it with the other and the copy I added surface so I could look how the model look like while in the other screen I work one the splines.Here is an in game shot with the helmet texture in progress.

Arai Rx-7

This is actually my second helmet model. Which is a perfect model of the real helmet. And this one included a face model so people could see them self riding instead of just a black visor. The texture for this model is for Colin Edwards. I made the texture and the templates for this model also made few version of the helmet design of Colin Edwards. And 2 textures followed very soon.
First was a helmet skin for Sete Gibernau.And then Shinya Nakano.And much later I change the original Edwards helmet skin to yellow because Edwards was racing a yellow version in 2006.

AGV titech V1 and V2

V1 was first ever helmet model I ever made for Gp500. Also the first helmet with an actual shape of a real helmet instead of a basic shape that would fit for all helmets. How ever the shape of this helmet was not 100% perfect match with the real one. But allot like the angle of this helmet. Giving a very aggressive look in the riding style.This is the in game shot can see that he looks deep down instead of more straight forward.
V2 was build much later with a better matching shape. Also containing riderskin I made for Valentino Rossi fitting the rider model of Sembo. And the helmet skin of this model was made by GAP a good friend of mine. Both contain templates with shadow mapping and sticker so it will be easier for other skinner to make their own design on.

This my entry for Group G9 a security firm based in Denmark. A guard dog on a shield for guarding and protecting.

Netkalorien v3 / Available

This is the 3rd idea / entry for Netkalorien. A fork with measure tape like spaghetti. This represents eating stuff make you gain size. It is a bit overboard on the detailing only didn't knew how to make it less detailed than this, also didn't want to make it look cartoony but more realistic.This is the original version with more only done with the illustration only and not much done with the typeface. And this is the revision of the logo with a better typeface and also a version with the illustration smaller.

Circle of Artitst.com V2 / Available

This is my second entry for Circle of Artist. With more aimed for showing photographers with similar shape of the shutter.

Sea Trial v2 / Available

This is the second design I submitted to the Sea Trial contest. With a sailboat illustration.

This is a revision make 2 boats racing each other and also it represent a kind of scale of justice.

First picture with my own pro tripod.

Today I have finally bought a professional tripod to help me to make better and much sharper pictures. Here is the first picture I made, I just grabbed a color pencil set and place it on a piece of paper. With the tripod, I can have a free hand to hold a mirror to create better lighting to photograph. The light source I used in this picture is from a light tracer with no flash used.

The tripod I bought is a Velbon CX-480 with very cool features. It got a quick release plate on for the camera so I could take off the camera really fast when it was needed. It says it goes 147 cm on the box but they forgot the to extend the middle tube which can go about 170cm or more. It came with a bag so it is easy to carry around, and every feature you need to turn and to hold it still.

Circle of Artists.com

This is my winning entry for the Circle of Artists.com contest. Also my first win in a logo contest. CircleOfArtists.com will be a site for painters & photographers.This is the first version I send in which was too bright.This is the 2nd revision with darker colors and more earth toned.
This is the 3rd revision with a color the CH wanted and a different font with a little edgy serifs.

Crystal paper

Here is a set of picture of a shape I folded out of a single A4 paper. I was inspired by Richard Sweeney and also wanted to find special ways to fold a paper to make it stronger and look different. This was pretty hard to fold but it looks very cool, kind of like a crystal shape. But would not recommend on a mass production on this.
Also tried to learn photographing white on white but seem it is pretty hard. Also keeping the camera better still is hard too, need to buy a camera stand soon.

Fireworks 2008 second set

Multiple fireworks, but the light were on inside. And making picture from inside the house, shut the lights so you wont get reflections from the glass. Click read full post to see the rest of the pictures.

Glitters and swirls.
This would have been a great shot got more of these kind of shots where I shot at the right moment but just didn't had the focus set right. An other advice use manual focus and keep it on focus for very far. Because you don't need to focus of thing that is close, because all the fireworks are very far up in the sky. And auto focus could focus on things you don't want.
Volcano effect, I am not sure what this was again because it is too wide for a fountain. I think this could be from a 1000 firecrackers roll.

Fireworks 2008

Happy New Year everybody and may you have a wonderful 2008. Here is a set of firework pictures I took at new year. I found a perfect setting to make these shots with my Konica Minolta Z5.This was the best shot of the night. I took all picture inside my house.
