Extra on a filmset

Was today on a film set of Cordelia being an extra (ke le fe),it was pretty easy and allot of fun and made some friends.

I don't know much about the script but pretty much instructed for some easy stuff. Just talk act as there is no cam and don't look into the cam until it was instructed. Also know the lead actor is Gold Mountain who is a MC, actor and more.

Also on set as extra was Yung Yung who I met before but this time she is back from China with wild blond super saiyan hair. I totally did not recognize her at first cause of her hair, even though I seen the photo on Facebook with blond hair.

Also I am not sure if they were filming this on the set and would be ad for this drink. But one thing I know this product smells, they say the taste is just like orange juice, but man the smell that came out already had me freaked out. I did allot of product reviews, research and tasting as a hobby during college, but man I think with this smell it ain't be product that would sell. Unless they add an ingredient to lessen the smell or abstract it. But also the ingredient is such an odd list is it like a list of different sauces and then added a dash of lemon on top. Plus the common rule that something that stinks mostly means it is bad for you.

Watched Storm Warriors II

I finally watched the Storm Warriors cause I had free time and I literally life next to the theather. The story started freaking stupid they already gotten the cure and could like just ran away directly instead they had to try and kill the big boss. And why did Wind had to go through the trouble of becoming evil while the training of the nameless guy made Cloud pretty strong. Also there was an all sudden time jump and unexplained that the Dragon Bone was keeping Wind from becoming evil and what that bone is actually for. Pretty much lost allot of story and the director probably only want to show fighting more than the story.

For CG totally nothing to complain about that it is truly awesome what those guys did. Other thing was the camera works they have like too much close up talking and also allot of non over the shoulder shots while people were talking, cause allot of times looks like people talking to thin air and probably was on the set. And pretty much most fighting you can expect when they go into slomo mode. Also saw like some zoom in out twitches not sure if was meant but were like very small ad odd moment don't know if either was accidental touching the zoom while filming or like odd stuff during the post production. Pretty much they did only cool and good cinematography works on the fights but if felt like when they had people talking they just took fast single takes in bad angles or actually taken dialogs on days when the person they are talking to was not there.

For one part felt allot of Sin City / 300 Spartan going on. Also like super lame joke in the middle while rest is super serious, they had to add a funny name for Cloud's new sword technique. If you go watch it just go for the CG and fighting don't expect much from the rest.

the Angel's Contract / Short Movie

Angel's Contract is a short movie with the story written by Chung Dha / Jona Lam and the script written in English by Joe Fiorello and Cantonese by Maggie Hou. Starring Maggie Hou and Brandon aka Ghoststyle, Michelle Lau, Arne Venema, Sky Tao, JuJu Chan, John Tien and a DMC Delorean. Director / Cinematographer by Chung Dha. Director of Audiography by Joe Fiorello.

The story of the Angel's contract.
A soul that felt that life on earth is a torment and took her own life during her last life. Her wish is to stay in heaven as an Angel and not to be reincarnated and endure the torture called life, however she is bound to earth cause she have been linked to a soul mate. So God sends her off on a mission to find a replacement for herself for her soul mate. However if her soul mate dies cause of her actions she would not become an Angel but a devil.

The story have all kind of beliefs, religions and myth, It make use of Angels, cupids, reincarnations, souls and soul mates put together making it all linked perfectly.

Day two of filming did not went all the way we actually wanted, the lead male actor were nowhere to be seen or able to be contacted. Also several other actors did not show up and also did not picked up their phones and have been recasted at the last moment. So a big thanks for the cast ( Brandon, JuJu, Arne) that joined in the final moment. We actually wanted to have Patrick Lee onboard, but he was busy.

We did allot of Guerilla shooting throe out of Hong Kong and mostly around Central side with out actually any problems. We managed to find a quite good spot on the roof of the IFC where we could peacefully shot for several hours and no guards or security complain or ask if we had permission for it.

Most indoor scenes were shot at Joe's apartment which is a pretty good place and also great time there and pretty much fun. Only problem was when Aaron showed up and pretty much made us to wait cause he just took Joe away and have him taking head shots while we were waiting to film. Other problem we had was when we used the Delorean in the driveway and a angry guy came out shouting stuff but he ran up to Arne somehow while Chung Dha is the guy directing and leading this crew and that he did not walk up to the car was odd.

We finished filming this movie on the 14th of December but still allot work with editing and more. With this film we want to join competitions and hope to finish before the end of this year so we can submit it to the HKIFF.

Also learned allot of stuff during this project and filming cause pretty much learned who I should have on the set or not and would be better to use a less louder car to film at residential area's .

Again thanks to all the crew and cast and hope to get the movie done ASAP and then get an even shorter version in a short trailer to promote with.

My very first audition

This weekend tried to do an audition for Love Hurts by Thomas Lo, did not went all the way I had planned however learned and picked up few things of what not to do for the next time. I got the script at the door and Alan was there to read up the script and ran me throe it and I pretty much got all the lines in my head, but went in there without having thought about how to get the best reaction or about how I would like to see myself reacting. Probably over acted few parts instead of doing it more naturally.

I was way to busy trying to remember the lines and another thing that was not helping was that the girl I had to play against was doing it all in English while I had prepared myself to react to Cantonese and talk in Cantonese, cause I fixed myself onto that Cantonese script. In the second try I just lost where I was cause of the English just could not match what was happening, also felt pretty unnatural to talk in Cantonese while the other person is talking in English. Also the Cantonese of the script was odd while preparing already had thought how to say it better than how it was actually written or even totally change or add stuff.

At least next time I should probably know how to prepare better also should had try to improvise instead of totally losing it. Also did not really wanted to go for the lead role cause Alan said the 30 year old guy would be the big lead, but from the script I saw that it was not the case , cause I pretty much had heard the baseline of the story from different people. However maybe do some crew work instead and also try to do more auditions, cause I want to feel and see more on the other side of the camera. I am not camera shy so that is not one of the problems, but I might need to try attending an acting lesson though.

Movie People I slept with

The 3rd time this year I went to a cinema in Hong Kong. This time is was for the movie premier at the Elements of the People I slept with by Quentin Lee (the guy on the right) which is a class 3 movie but wasn't in my taste much of a class 3 cause it was more comedy than actual nudity.
The jokes are pretty good but cause I recently started filming my self I seem to be looking at every details on the screen and saw allot of the cinematography and editing or other flaws. There were allot of the over the shoulder shots with the person / shoulder missing which gives an odd feel and persons talking while they shouldn't cause their face is off the screen or with no moving cheeks. One major thing was pretty much how they scanned the baby cause they should scan the tummy of the mother and not going in between the legs.
To be honest also the acting was not all the best with people overacting but also not giving enough. But the mainly allot of very funny jokes that you will remember. It was pretty cool they got the lead actors to the premier, one was actually a Power Ranger and played in CSI as one of the lab techs.
I gotten one of the buttons which says: " Virgins do it better" which the lovely lead actress was giving away during the after party.
Pretty much the main attraction during th after party was the fake snow of the mall which after certain time just blow out of a train and made a pretty big soapy mess especially with children around.I had great night after a pretty hectic day running around and had fun and laugh allot from the jokes of the movie.
But the biggest thing is that I can truly say I have met a Power Ranger hehe.
