Havent placed all the vids of Cinemasia on my own personal blog only placed the compilation of the first day while also did full interviews which you can all find on the Cinemasia Ketelhuis Youtube page. The compilation of 22 May actually find one of the better vids I did at the Cinemasia, cause day one had to get used to filming during the day with being outside and inside, so had few issue with the setup and which gear to take with me. Also learned allot and also learned what extra gear to get, also this was still when I had the Canon EOS 500d with no manual movie mode and with mainly 2 lenses that I use which is the 50mm f1.8 mrkII and Sigma 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 . However now have way better collection. But just wanted to show even with simple gear can get pretty decent event vids.
Cinemasia 22 May
Coming weekend is 48 hours film project!!!
Next weekend is the 48hours film project in Utrecht hopefully can work as an cameraman. Am already trying to pack up the gear I need have received my LCDVF today and also might buy allot of extra stuff.
For now this will be the setup for my Canon EOS 550d. A LCDVF ofcourse so during sunny day I can still view what I am filming also have set light option of the screen to low so I am sure what I see on the screen is what I film had times that what I filmed was darker cause my screen was set very bright.
Cokin P holder this is pretty much the thing you need to get, so you can film with a nice fast aperture while still using 1/30s. Have whole range of ND filters from ND4/ND8/ND16. Already tested if its is super sunny outside I can use both ND8 plus ND16 to make an ND128 for 7 stops if it is really extreme sunny could use also with ND4 to make an 512 with 9 stops. Also going to get an Polarizer which could ad few extra stops. Also few secret filters for very very special effects.
Got a shotgun mic which is a great directional mic but need to watchout for the auto gain from the camera.
Also extra on the side got a nice LED light but mostly dont think I would need to use it. Might get a reflector to bounce light especially will get nice lighting that way. Seriously good lighting can get more detail into the characters also better to see their expressions.
Simple tripod with a dolly for the nice dolly shots and a monopod for fast shooting on the go so dont have to setup the tripod all the time.
Will be bringing almost my full lens collection to able to get super shots or produce shots which "BIG SONY " cams can not get. Pretty much their lost not having me as their cameraman. Eat that with your f1.9, I have a f1.4 !!!
I pretty much know what problems the other teams are going to run into and most of the camera man are probably ENG camera man for news or event which dont know much about filming stuff in a cinematic way.
Inspired / Brands colors categorized
At Colorlovers I found and interesting post about categorizing colors of top 100 brands. However I have to say they did not tell you why they choose the colors or more about the colors differences and what the companies do. However they did make an interesting info graphic showing how most colors are divided and which colors are used the most. One color I see is missing is black which they places into the grays instead of giving an own category.
From what I know about colors especially which is useful for choosing the best colors for certain brands is that blue is the best color for showing professionalism and technology. And dark blue is a very much preferred color that is used in American corporations, cause dark blue often represents knowledge, power, integrity, and seriousness.
While also there are plenty of companies using red which is well known as a color of attraction and love, but also hate and danger. The color is mostly used for showing energy and activity. You will find reds allot in sports, news and anything with allot of activity going on.
If you want to know more about each colors I have a post which explains what each colors means, click here to view it.

Tech new / Sony translucent mirror
Here is a video of the new Sony DSLR able to shoot 10fps cause the mirror does not move and able to see the what you are shooting without blacking out the screen. Its quite cool new tech for DSLR or a return tech cause Canon researched or already had a camera with this technology but never set a big trend cause you loose allot of light entering the sensor, but with nowadays high ISO doesn't really matter anymore and especially during bright sunny days might be great too. Have to say 10fps is crazy fast and hope this tech comes to other brands too especially to Canon cause mostly I already have a big range of lenses for Canon and would not like to change brands.
Check out the review of a55 here, however its Japanese but you can see sample pictures and videos.
Tech News/ iPhone rigged?
Zacuto's Z-Grip iPhone Cinema Kit from steve weiss on Vimeo.
Ok this rig just goes a bit overboard, a rig for a DSLR is OK but a rig for iPhone is just crazy. Whats next a rig for Flip, bloggie and Kodak Playsport? These are camera's just to vlog and to make some snapshot vids not to make a professional movie. Especially with the same amount of money you could just go and buy a good DSLR instead.
Inspired HDR video
You might say how would software combine 2 images for a hdr. The future way to film hdr is that the camera films double the ammount of frames. Instead of like 30 frames it will do 60 frames with 30 a bit under exposed and 30 over exposed with ISO differences and able to combine the images to become HDR 30 frames movie. However the current DSLR developement if they would add 60p and if the processor speed can handle processing each frames different to do HDR. But I think either it will happen to small pocket camera's or the pro video camera's first before it would hit the DSLR unless some brand read this and tries it as a new gimmick.
Tribute to Shoya Tomizawa
Out of respect of the winner of the very first race of the Moto2 series who lost his life at Misano, I made this vector art in about 5 days, which is available to download for free. With the vector art you can print high detail without it being pixelated. You can print it on extreme sizes like a1 or even bigger. You can view and download the files below from Scribd.
Shoya Tomizawa Vector art
You can print it out as a big poster, photo or on a Tshirt as tribute to Shoya Tomizawa. Please do not use this vector art for any commercial use like selling posters or shirts with it.
shoyacartoon

Inspired Japanese Ukulele Duo
Even though I don't know Japanese but the video performed by U900 or the Japanese Ukulele Duo are quite cute and awesome. With use of 2 dolls and stopmotion and photo editing made into an interesting music clip. Here above is their cover of the Beatles song Twist and shout which quite awesome!!!

Dai Fu Lou exhibit HK
Havent posted this video on my own blog, also have this Dai Fu Lou project bit on hold but still have allot of copies of that animated book and took allot back to NL. I am planning to revamp Dai Fu Lou soon with different story and also start to do more things like animations. I am just going to do my own stuff for real for the coming time and probably not making allot of money but am sure to do stuff I like and especially learn more and able to show more what I am capable off on my blog. Especially have done some cool designs in the past for bigger brands but could not post the works in my blog cause this didnt want to be associated to be hiring a freelancer to do the job which is quite silly. Especially its pretty much a free advertisement while I have thousand of viewers each month. Have the 2 paintings I made in Holland hanging in my room and might start painting my old scooter helmet into the design I made with Dai Fu Lou for a bike racing game. I just got too much ideas yet want to make so much more.
Isometrc progress 3
Haven't done much few days had beed to the doctors and cycled to Rotterdam to pick up some Cokin filters and met some interesting people. Closed it up and looks more like the camera now only still need to make extra side and back blue print to make it easier to determine some parts. Also learned now that the new CS5 got a perspective tool but what I have seem people using it for its mostly been people making buildings and not allot of difficult shapes like this camera. I have to say I am not using CS5 at all I am using CS2 about 3 generations back which still works fine fore making illustrations and I have to say the new stuffs are interesting but not really needed for what I am illustrating. I might actually add the lens plus Cokin system to this illustration and make a short animation.
Ladybug spreading wings from 2008

This is actually from a ladybug photoset I shot in 2008 however I never saw this awesome shot cause it was totally under exposed, now few years further and experience in photography and editing I saw the picture in my collection and tried to edit the photo so you can see the great image. This photo was taken way before I had an DSLR, its actually shot with an Konica Minolta Z5. Here above you see the full picture and below a crop of it both edited to look less under exposed.
Too bad I didn't had the photography skills that I now have back then. However I have to say its still a nice shot. Also special about it is that I did not took silly picture of just a ladybug just walking normally, I wanted to have it wings spread and had a certain technique to make this shot. Involving a the room to be dark and a light source that attracted the ladybug and every time it wanted to fly it would spread it wings for a second before it flew, and just had to turn of the light before it would fly to keep the ladybug in place.
I might want to print one of the other lady bug picture on canvas which I had blogged about it before. Which was lid very well however the focus was very shallow and focused only on the eyes of the ladybug while it spreads it wings. I am sure there are not allot of picture of a Ladybug spreading it wings and I am the only one with allot of them.
