Next weekend is the 48hours film project in Utrecht hopefully can work as an cameraman. Am already trying to pack up the gear I need have received my LCDVF today and also might buy allot of extra stuff.
For now this will be the setup for my Canon EOS 550d. A LCDVF ofcourse so during sunny day I can still view what I am filming also have set light option of the screen to low so I am sure what I see on the screen is what I film had times that what I filmed was darker cause my screen was set very bright.
Cokin P holder this is pretty much the thing you need to get, so you can film with a nice fast aperture while still using 1/30s. Have whole range of ND filters from ND4/ND8/ND16. Already tested if its is super sunny outside I can use both ND8 plus ND16 to make an ND128 for 7 stops if it is really extreme sunny could use also with ND4 to make an 512 with 9 stops. Also going to get an Polarizer which could ad few extra stops. Also few secret filters for very very special effects.
Got a shotgun mic which is a great directional mic but need to watchout for the auto gain from the camera.
Also extra on the side got a nice LED light but mostly dont think I would need to use it. Might get a reflector to bounce light especially will get nice lighting that way. Seriously good lighting can get more detail into the characters also better to see their expressions.
Simple tripod with a dolly for the nice dolly shots and a monopod for fast shooting on the go so dont have to setup the tripod all the time.
Will be bringing almost my full lens collection to able to get super shots or produce shots which "BIG SONY " cams can not get. Pretty much their lost not having me as their cameraman. Eat that with your f1.9, I have a f1.4 !!!
I pretty much know what problems the other teams are going to run into and most of the camera man are probably ENG camera man for news or event which dont know much about filming stuff in a cinematic way.
